After I had time to write a tutorial on how to setup Huawei modem using wvdial on my previous article, “Setup AHA Modem Huawei EC1260-2 EVDO | Ubuntu 10.10“. In this article, will also be discussed about how to setup modem Huawei EC1260-2 EVDO AHA bundle. However, in this tutorial we will use the “Network Connections” which is the default applications from Ubuntu 10.10.
Well, Let’s start it
Step 1. Plug in your modem device.
Step 2. Open the “Network Connections” by:
System > Preferences > Network Connections
Step 3. On “Network Connection” window, go to “Mobile Broadband” tab and click “Add” to make a new connection profile.
Step 4. On the next step, select your modem provider. In this case is “HUAyWEI TECHNOLOGIES HUAWEI Mobile”. Click “Forward” to continue.
Step 5. Now select the Provider Country of your SIM card. In this case is “Indonesia”. Click “Forward” again.
Step 6. Then choose the Provider of your SIM card, if your SIM card’s provider is not on the list you can put it manually by clicking “I can’t find my provider . . .”. In this case I put it manually and write “AHA”. Click “Forward” again to continue.
Step 7. This is the last step to create your AHA connection. Click “Apply” to confirm.
Step 8. Now we have to edit the configuration of AHA SIM card just like the picture below and the password is “aha” without quotes. Click “Apply” to confirm it.
Step 9. There will be a new connection profile that has been created in “Network Connections” which named “AHA connection 1″. Now you can close the “Network Connections” window.
Step 10. Restart your OS to make it work.
Step 11. To activate it. Click the connection icon on the Dasboard and click “AHA connection 1″.
Step 12. Wala…. Your AHA modem can be use now.
Ok that’s for the tutorial. Thanks for stopping by and read some posts on this website, hopefully this info is useful for every one who need it. See you in another tutorial and don’t forget to leave a comment for me.
